Entry to Dance Your City is subject to the following conditions and you should not use this website unless you accept these conditions:

SUMMARY

You must only upload videos that are yours or you have permission to upload on behalf of someone else

You must not upload videos that are in any way offensive (including offensive language and swearing in the music)

If you are using a tripod or large camera crew to film your dance in a public space you are responsible for getting permission from the relevant local authority or council. More information can be found at http://www.industry.bfi.org.uk/publicspaces

You are responsible for your own safety when taking part in dance activity as part of the Dance Your City competition

If you or your group is successful in getting to the live judging and performance in London you may be eligible to apply for a subsidy towards any necessary travel and accommodation.

1. Use of the Dance Your City website

You agree to use the Dance Your City website only for lawful purposes, and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict or inhibit anyone else’s use and enjoyment of the website. Prohibited behaviour includes harassing or causing distress or inconvenience to any person, uploading obscene or offensive content, or uploading content for which you do not have copyright permission.

2. Content

2.1 We are not responsible for any offence, damage to feelings, or emotional distress caused as a result of any content on the website.

2.2 Content may not be suitable for children and we recommend that children are supervised at all times when accessing and using the website.

3. Copyright

3.1 You may not upload or share any defamatory or illegal material on the Dance Your City website. This includes text, graphics, video, programs or audio.

3.2 You agree to upload or share with the Dance Your City website only contributions which are your own original work or which you have permission to use. You must not violate, plagiarise, or infringe the rights of Dance Touring Partnership, Boy Blue Entertainment or any third parties including copyright, trademark, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary rights.

4. Your Contributions

4.1 About your contributions:

(a) No advertising or promoting.

(b) Contributions containing languages other than English may be removed

(c) No impersonation.

(d) No inappropriate (e.g. vulgar, offensive etc) user names.

4.2 By sharing any contribution (including any text, photographs, graphics, video or audio) with the website you agree to grant to Dance Touring Partnership, free of charge, permission to use the material in any way it wants (including modifying and adapting it for operational and editorial reasons). In certain circumstance Dance Touring Partnership may also share your contribution with trusted third parties.

4.3 Copyright in your contribution will remain with you and this permission is not exclusive, so you can continue to use the material in any way including allowing others to use it.

4.4 Please do not endanger yourself or others, take any unnecessary risks or break any laws when creating content you may share with the Dance Your City website.

4.5 If you do not want to grant Dance Touring Partnership the permission set out above on these terms, please do not submit or share your contribution with the Dance Your City website.

4.7 In order to participate in and contribute to the Dance Your City Website you are required to submit your email address. Any personal information supplied to the Dance Your City website or Dance Touring Partnership website as part of this registration process will be collected, stored and used in accordance with the Dance Touring Partnership Privacy Policy.

 

5. Safety

5.1 We advise that you never reveal any personal information about yourself or anyone else (for example: telephone number, postal address, home address or email address or any other details that would allow you to be personally identified).

5.2 If you’re under 16: Please get a parent’s or carer’s permission before taking part in the Dance Your City competition. Never reveal any personal information about yourself or anyone else on the website (for example, school, telephone number, your full name, home address or email address).

5.3 You are responsible for warming up appropriately and not performing any moves or positions that may put yourself or anyone else at risk of injury.

 

6. If you break the rules

6.1 If you fail to abide by the above rules when taking part in the Dance Your City competition, we may remove your contributions from the website. You will be notified if this action is taken. If you continue to break the above rules we may suspend your user account on a temporary or permanent basis.

6.2 Dance Touring Partnership reserves the right to delete any contribution, or take action against any Dance Your City participant, at any time, for any reason.

7. Responsibility

7.1 The majority of content posted on the Dance Your City website is created by members of the public. The views expressed are theirs and unless specifically stated are not those of Dance Touring Partnership. Dance Touring Partnership is not responsible for any content posted by members of the public on the Dance Your City website or for the availability or content of any third party sites that are accessible through the Dance Your City website. Any links to third party websites from the website do not amount to any endorsement of that site by Dance Touring Partnership and any use of that site by you is at your own risk.

7.2 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes Dance Touring Partnership’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its proven negligence. Subject to the previous sentence, Dance Touring Partnership shall not be liable for any of the following losses or damage (whether such damage or losses were foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise):
(a) loss of data;

(b) loss of revenue or anticipated profits;

(c) loss of business;

(d) loss of opportunity;

(e) loss of goodwill or injury to reputation;

(f) losses suffered by third parties; or

(g) any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from the use of the Dance Your City website regardless of the form of action.

8. Dance Your City live final in December 2014 and Boy Blue Entertainment performance in February 2015
8.1 The 3 groups or individuals with the most votes will be invited to perform at the Dance Your City Live Final in London in December. Date and location to be confirmed. The final winner will be invited to perform on stage as part of an Evening with Boy Blue Entertainment at the Barbican in London in February 2015.

8.2 If you are invited to take part in either or both of these performances you may be eligible to apply for a transport and accommodation subsidy.

8.2 There is no age restriction on attending the event but if you are under 14 you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

8.3 You take part in the Dance Your City performances at your own risk, you are responsible for warming up and making sure that you don’t put yourself at any physical risk through any choreography in your performance.

 

9. Documentation of live final and winning performance

 

9.1 DTP reserves the right to document all its projects through photography and film using an independent photographer and film maker. If you are invited to take part in the live final and winning performance you will be asked to sign a Media Consent form.

 

9.2 The photographs and film will be used by DTP, the Barbican and Boy Blue.  Original images, video footage and other documentation will be held by core DTP staff, corresponding and relevant venues and other relevant associates. The material will be used by these parties for evaluation, reporting, archive and promotional materials. Where relevant to promotion it could be used in newsletters, online (both on the website and official blogs), Facebook and Twitter accounts.
